Customer context

An anonymized wholesale and distribution workflow needed customer-specific catalog access, repeat ordering, order status and document visibility without exposing internal ERP screens.

Problem

Customers asked sales reps for the same price, stock, shipment and document updates repeatedly.

Scope

Authenticated portal, account-specific catalog, availability freshness, order tracking, document permissions and ERP status mapping.

Result

The portal reduced repetitive status requests and created a safer customer-facing layer over ERP data.

Architecture

The portal separated customer-visible states from internal ERP states. Every order kept an external reference, account scope and document permission rule so support could trace customer questions without exposing private data.
